The purpose of the workshop is to engage Mobridge residents in a community-based planning process that focuses on visualizing the development potential of a 30-acre parcel of land next to Lake Oahe and connected Mobridge’s Main Street. After the student’s initial visit to Mobridge and listening to the community’s ideas, the class will synthesize their research and return to Mobridge with some illustrative development options later this year.

The student’s workshop will be used to identify and illustrate ways that the riverfront property might develop over time and through it, stimulate investment strategies that could bring this extraordinary parcel of land a variety of new uses.
